I love them. I wear a women's 8 ½ (CAD), I followed the instructions on the website and ordered two sizes down, a mens 6 ½ (CAD). They fit perfectly. I planned to wear them around the house the first day, then around the yard and doing errands before wearing at work, but my Red Wings were left outside the work shack and got rained in, so I just had to wear them the day after they arrived. Honestly, there was no need to break them in minus a bit stiff getting my foot in and out. They were so comfortable!! Couple weeks of wearing them now, and I feel the same way. I'm a pipefitter in Northern BC, and I'm working in all weather conditions. My partner didn't think they looked supportive enough, but there's been no issue there at all. While they're waterproof, I wished I had the opportunity to wax and treat the leather prior to wearing outdoors. They are deeply and easily scuffed. But, I don't understand the internal met guard. It's not like other MET guard I've used... it's soft?
i've been wearing them for probably a year now. i work outdoors off-grid on the ocean and needed something to protect my toes. they're definitely waterproof as i had to walk right into to water once while grabbing a log and my feet stayed completely dry. i haven't dropped anything on my foot yet so i can't speak to the toe protection. the only downside is the sole on the left boot is slowly coming off (this is why i gave it a 4). it started at the toe. i've tried gorilla gluing it and vicing it overnight, but a few days later started to come off again. hopefully it won't come off all the way. i got a wide, size 5 and i am a size 7 in womens. love the wide boot. it's so comfortable and i can wear thick socks.
So far I have just worn them around the house, but I like how lightweight they are, even though they are a safety boot. My only concern will be if certain sites don't let us wear a pull on. Also I was told by the CSR on the phone when i purchased them , iIt was recommended i get a size 6 mens, as I am a size 7. But i went with a 6.5 and I am happy as it allows room for my work socks.
