Jacket is really good. It’s a bit big (I’m 6’1”, 190), but I like that as I can wear warmer layers with no worries. The pockets are top loading so not for your hands but should keep contents dry. I went out in a deluge the first day I got it and it kept me nice and dry, didn’t have anything in those front pockets though. I kept my phone in the inside breast pocket and it was fine during an hour long walk in the pouring rain. The hood didn’t really come forward enough and I got loads of rain on my face…wasn’t best pleased with that… but I noticed the next day that the hood is button clipped to the jacket and there are two rows of buttons. So I have moved the hood up a row in order to move it forward. It’s only 1-2 inches but hopefully will help a bit more. I will wear a ball cap next time in the rain as well. Overall…very happy with it. A good price compared with similar jackets elsewhere too.
Last fall a friend--the local mechanic who in his truck encounters me almost daily as I walk my two young dogs along the dirt roads on Lasqueti Island--informed me he had a gift for me. It was a reflective vest he told me he was giving me because I and the dogs were not very visible on the roadside now that the days had grown darker and wetter. Subsequently, I wore the vest every day for nine months, until mid-summer. I liked being highly visible. I even bought the dogs reflective vests. When I saw the Work Authority promotion for the Terra Hi-Vis Rain Work Jacket, I decided to buy it for walking the dogs on rainy days, because it would provide fuller coverage than the vest. The package arrived in today’s mail. I tried the jacket on. The XL fits me well, and has lots of room for sweaters or a jacket on cold days. It is also a beautiful jacket, with amazing bright colours. It is very well made, with a heavy zipper inside and solid dome fasteners outside, well stitched seams and pockets throughout, heavy and stiff fabric, and a detachable hood, large enough to put over my bicycle helmet and I would imagine a work helmet. It is a superb rain jacket that I would wear just to look stylish. One last thing. At $84.99, this jacket is almost free. I feel as if, like the mechanic, Work Authority has given it to me because they want me to be visible, safe, and dry.
Well constructed and the removable hood is a good option
